Big NBA Trade Rumor on the Block

NBA trade rumors continue to flow as the 2016-17 regular season has begun. Nerlens Noel, an No.6  overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, is in a lot of possible trade rumor scenarios.

Noel underwent successful surgery on his inflamed plica in his left knee, the team announced on Tuesday. The 76ers did not divulge a timetable for his recovery for the 22-year-old Noel, who missed his entire first season after having surgery on the same knee.

Having Okafor, Noel, Joel Embiid, and now an emerging backup big in Richaun Holmes. To go along with Dario Saric and Ben Simmons most of the team’s young talent is clearly in the front court. Having that many bigs wont work, and Nerlans Noel had said as much before training camp even started. Instead, thanks in part to the injuries that have occurred during the preseason. The front court logjam has unintentionally alleviated itself. The Ben Simmons injury was the first thing to fall into place, Jahlil Okafor played his first minutes of NBA action in the very last preseason game against Miami last Friday, after nursing his surgically repaired knee from March. And now Nerlens Noel is on the mend for 3-5 weeks because he had surgery in some part of the knee.

The latest rumor that surrounds him is a possible trade to the Boston Celtics. Current NBA trade rumors indicate that a two-team deal is possible. The structure of this rumored scenario is as follows. The 76-ers would send Noel to the Celtics, while they will get Marcus Smart and James Young. This deal will work for both sides because the Celtics would get another good Big man. While the 76-ers will get players on the 1 and 2 position which they lack.

Also many of the NBA trade rumors that are found on the internet could be busted right out of the gate by looking at the legality of the proposed deal. In this case, however, the NBA league office would approve this two-team, three-player transaction (per the ESPN NBA Trade Machine).
