War in the trenches is the perfection description for  this St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks rivalry.

Both teams met in the first-round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with the Blues winning the series in 7 games. They would meet again last night, and St. Louis won 5 to 2.

In the first period, Richard Panik scored for the Chicago Blackhawks. In the second period, Kevin Shattenkirk and Vladimir Tarasenko scored for the St. Louis Blues. Ryan Hartman scored a goal for the Blackhawks.

In the third period, St. Louis took over with 3 goals scored by Paul Stastny, Vladimir Tarasenko, and Scottie Upshall. The Blues were 3 for 5 on the power play. Two of their goals were on empty netters.

Jake Allen made 17 saves for the Blues. Corey Crawford made 29 saves for the Blackhawks. These rivals will be meeting 4 more times this season.
