NBA Hall of Famer Allen Iverson stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to talk about his legendary career on Wednesday night.
Anyone that’s been a fan of the NBA over the past couple of decades was probably a big fan of Allen Iverson back in the day. Now that The Answer is finally in the Hall of Fame, he’s back in the spotlight and making media appearances.
On Wednesday, A.I. stopped by to make an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The two talked about a number of topics, including A.I. crossing up his idol, Michael Jordan, during his rookie season with the Philadelphia 76ers.
The two also discussed Iverson’s perception as a thug while he was in the NBA. Just because Iverson had a different style, wore gold chains and had cornrows, the media portrayed him differently. However, Iverson said that it was bittersweet, saying that his portrayal allowed players today to more freely express themselves. You can watch the entire interview between Colbert and Iverson in the YouTube video below.
Those who have followed A.I. closely over the years know that he has struggled emotionally with how he has been perceived. Seeing a more comfortable Iverson on the set of The Late Show was great to see, because The Answer has always had his issues with the media after his time in the league.
Hopefully this isn’t the last time we see A.I. on national television, because it’s always a treat to get to see the NBA Hall of Fame point guard talk about the glory days.
