Just two days after defensive end Vance Walker tore his anterior cruciate ligament, Derek Wolfe was helped off the field Wednesday with an apparent ankle injury.

Head Coach Gary Kubiak said after practice that Wolfe rolled his ankle and the team’s trainers will treat and monitor the injury.

The Broncos lost defensive end Vance Walker to a season-ending torn ACL earlier in the week. Wolfe posted a career-best 49 tackles last year, and posted 2.5 sacks during the team’s playoff run.

The Broncos signed him to a new contract during the playoffs last season, viewing him as a core player moving forward.
