Chelsea have beaten Barcelona to the signing of highly-rated goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, according to Escola Varsovia’s official website.
The 17-year-old currently plies his trade with the Polish club, but they’ve announced today an agreement for the shot-stopper to complete a transfer to Stamford Bridge.
t follows reports from Polish website Przeglad Sportowy, claiming the teenager arrived in west London yesterday to sign a contract with the Premier League title hopefuls.
He underwent a trail at Chelsea earlier this year and apparently impressed interim manager Guus Hiddink enough for the club to pursue a permanent deal.
El Clascio giants Barcelona were also keen to sign Bulka, but he’s now opted for a Chelsea transfer instead.
However, the Polish prodigy’s first-team debut may still be some way off, considering the goalkeeping options already at Antonio Conte’s disposal.
Thibaut Courtois remains the Blues’ No.1, despite some questionable form last season, whilst Asmir Begovic is a more than capable understudy with 188 Premier League appearances under his belt.
