Alvaro Morata completed his first training session under coach Zinedine Zidane on Thursday, and Florentino Perez stopped by to welcome the striker back to Real Madrid.

The club president greeted the entire team on their way to the dressing room, and he gave the 23-year-old a hug before chatting with him and Lucas Vazquez.

The show of affection was the latest sign that Los Blancos are eager to make Morata feel at home in the Spanish capital after turning down a 75 million euro offer from Chelsea earlier this month.

Zidane has refused to rule out a late transfer deal, but he met the former Juventus player at the team hotel on Wednesday afternoon and said that he is ‘happy’ to have him in the team.

Morata was one of three late additions to Real Madrid’s training camp in Montreal, along with Vazquez and Sergio Diaz.
