His victory on Philippe Chatrier have made history and marked an era during which the Spaniard seemed almost invincible, losing since 2005, only two matches against Robin Soderling and Novak Djokovic in 2009 and 2015 respectively. His triumphs have made him the greatest player in the history of the French Open, and the strongest player of all time on clay.
